Product Overview

Ever Power has 50+ years of experience in tank truck compressor manufacturing for combustible gas and chemical liquid transfer applications. The oil-free, water-cooled, skid-mounted tank truck compressor series covers LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), C4 fraction, propane, propylene, butane, ethylene, and liquid ammonia unloading, loading, tank-to-tank transfer, and residual liquid recovery. Low-speed explosion-proof direct-drive motors, water-cooled or air-cooled (adjustable) cooling, VFD or fixed-speed operation, and integrated skid packaging give these units long compressor and wear-part service life, stable operation, and low maintenance cost.

For acetylene, Ever Power is the drafter of the Chinese national standard JB/T 9103-2015 for reciprocating acetylene compressors and has decades of specialist experience. The acetylene compressor range covers high-pressure dissolved acetylene cylinder filling (up to 2.50 MPa), medium-pressure chemical process acetylene for BDO, PVC, and vinyl acetate production (0.1–2.0 MPa), and acetylene mixed gas compression for multi-component process streams. All products comply with API 618 and applicable national standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a tank truck unloading compressor and a transfer pump?
A compressor pressurises the vapour space above the liquid in the source tank, forcing liquid to flow to the destination tank by pressure differential — no moving liquid contact parts, no vapour-locking, suitable for near-empty source tanks. A liquid pump requires a flooded suction and struggles with near-empty conditions. Compressors are preferred for LP-gas tank truck unloading, residual liquid recovery, and cylinder filling station transfer where complete liquid transfer is required.
What safety certifications are required for propane unloading compressors?
For LPG and propane service, the compressor and its drive motor require IEC Ex or ATEX Zone 1 or Zone 2 certification depending on the installation classification. The skid must include gas detection sensors, automatic suction/discharge block valves, pressure relief valves to a safe vent, and anti-static earthing. National fire safety codes for LPG storage and handling also apply at the installation level.
What is the maximum operating pressure for dissolved acetylene cylinder filling?
Dissolved acetylene cylinder filling is limited to 2.50 MPa (at 15 °C reference temperature) in most regulatory frameworks, corresponding to approximately 1.7–2.0 MPa gauge at filling temperature. The high-pressure acetylene compressor models in this range are designed for discharge up to 2.50 MPa as the upper limit for dissolved acetylene service.
Can these compressors handle ethylene and propylene simultaneously?
Mixed ethylene/propylene service is available in specific models such as the ZW-3/16-14 ethylene/propylene unloading compressor. The gas composition must be declared at specification stage as it affects compressibility factor, molecular weight, and valve timing. Pure ethylene and pure propylene compressors are also available as separate models.
How is liquid ammonia transfer handled differently from LPG?
Liquid ammonia has significantly different thermodynamic properties and is highly toxic and corrosive to copper alloys. Ammonia transfer compressors use steel or cast iron wetted parts (no copper or copper alloys), dedicated ammonia-rated shaft packing, and require full respiratory protection protocols during maintenance. Gas detection must be calibrated for NH₃ sensitivity. Models like the LW-6.85/16-24 are specifically designed for liquid ammonia tank truck transfer service.
For pure ethylene compression in steam cracker or ethylene storage applications, our Coal Gas & Industrial Tail Gas Compressors include dedicated ethylene and mixed hydrocarbon process gas models.
